A year ago, I decided to commit to a fitness goal by getting a walking pad/treadmill and walking 1-2kms on most days.
To help me stay motivated, I joined Conqueror Challenges, a virtual fitness program where I choose a location, log my steps and receive a real, beautifully designed medal for the location once I complete the challenge. They also plant a tree for every 20% completed.
So far I’ve logged over 750kms, received many virtual postcards, planted 35 trees and picked up 7 medals!
The app has been easy to use, I like seeing where I am on the map and tracking my progress. I have enjoyed travelling virtually to different places, learning about the location I “travel to” by receiving virtual postcards whenever I reach a milestone, watching videos about the destination, eating the local cuisine, and reading books about the place.

Here are some of the videos I watched and books I read along the way to immerse myself in the location:
- The Happiest Refugee by Ahn Do
- Tam Cam movie (Vietnamese Cinderella story)
- Dying For Everest Beyond Documentary
- Petra documentaries/videos
- 4K walking videos – HP Walking Tours
- Anthony Bourdain food videos
- Rick Steves’ Europe
- Lots of travel vlogs
Some of my favourite medals so far are Amalfi Coast, Petra and Cote D’Azur as there are interactive parts to the medals.
If you’re interested in trying it out, here’s my referral code, you’ll get 10% off and I get a free challenge for every 2 people who signs up (note: the discount doesn’t apply to licensed challenges eg. The Lord Of The Rings series).
